1932- American aviator Amelia Earhart took off from Los Angeles, and landed in Newark, New Jersey, the following day, she became the first woman to complete a solo nonstop flight across the United States. Los Angeles - Newark NJ is 5hrs and 17mins.

What made her trip special was she flew in a bright red Lockheed 5B Vega. She flew it alone across the Atlantic Ocean.

7 years after she ran out of fuel while flying around the world and crashed into the vast ocean but her body was never found.

2006- Pluto which was known to be a member of the solar system was demoted and classified as a dwarf planet because of its small size, icy composition, and anomalous orbital characteristics.

2011- Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple Inc. resigned due to health issues and died 2 weeks after resigning, succeeded by Tim Cook who is now the current CEO.
